PennState Extension – Beekeeping 101 – This online course (10 sections, 9 hours) about the science and practice of beekeeping is for beginning beekeepers. It covers bee biology and behavior, hive management, equipment, bee products, and more. **Must register. Available for FREE through 4/30/2020. You’ll have 60 days to access after you register.** NOTE – While most of the information is good for any beginning beekeeper, keep in mind that this is from a Pennsylvania point of view. Seasonal discussions (when to hive/feed/split, honey flows, etc.) will not be accurate for Michigan beekeeping.
The Sandhill – Dr. Meghan Milbrath’s website. This page offers a lengthy list of educational documents on all aspects of beekeeping.
Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) – Grants and Education to Advance Innovations in Sustainable Agriculture – including beekeeping. Dr. Adam Ingrao is Co-Coordinator for Michigan.

Beekeeping for Veterans
Heroes to Hives was established in 2015 at Bee Wise Farms LLC by its owners Adam and Lacey Ingrao as a way to give back to veterans in their community. The 9-month program they developed offered military veterans the opportunity to learn about beekeeping through instruction and mentorship. Additional information is available from the MSU website.

Northern Bee Network - An organization designed to support beekeepers in the Northern States by promoting collaboration between beekeepers and by providing resources for more sustainable beekeeping.
Superior Beekeeping Club (Facebook) – Get updates on the club’s spring bee order. The first info is generally posted in January or February, with updates leading to package pick-up in April.
